Porcelain veneers in Woodland Hills

Thin porcelain shells, custom-made to cover chips, gaps and stains.

A fresh look for the teeth you show

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells bonded to the front of your teeth. They can cover chips, stains and small gaps, and even out teeth that are uneven in size or shape.

Because porcelain reflects light much like natural enamel and resists staining, well-made veneers look natural and stay bright for years.

How porcelain veneers are made and placed

  1. 1

    Consultation and smile design

We talk about what you'd like to change, check your teeth and gums, and plan the shape and shade that suit your face.

  2. 2

    Preparing your teeth

A thin layer of enamel is usually removed so the veneers sit naturally. The area is numbed, so you stay comfortable.

  3. 3

    Scan and temporaries

We take a precise scan or impression for the lab, and you can wear temporary veneers while yours are being made.

  4. 4

    Placing your veneers

We check the fit and color, make any fine adjustments, then bond each veneer firmly in place.

  5. 5

    Care

Brush, floss and keep up regular checkups. A night guard can protect veneers if you grind your teeth.

Porcelain Veneers FAQs

Porcelain veneers often last ten years or more with good care. Regular checkups, and a night guard if you grind your teeth, help them last as long as possible.

Porcelain veneers are usually considered permanent, because a thin layer of enamel is removed to fit them. That's why we plan carefully with you before starting. The ADA describes the process.

Porcelain veneers resist staining much better than natural teeth, but the edges and your natural teeth can still pick up stains, so good habits still matter.

Getting veneers usually involves little discomfort, because the teeth are numbed while they're prepared. Some mild sensitivity afterward is normal and short-lived.

A veneer covers only the front of a tooth, while a crown covers the whole tooth. Crowns are used when a tooth needs more strength or repair.

Often, yes. Veneers are matched to your natural teeth, so teeth whitening first lets your veneers match your brighter shade.
