Invisalign in Woodland Hills

Straighten your teeth with clear aligners instead of metal braces.

Clear aligners instead of braces

Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of clear, removable trays instead of brackets and wires. Each set moves your teeth a little at a time, and because they come out, you can eat what you like and brush and floss normally.

Dr. Ahdout has completed Invisalign certification training, and every case starts with a digital scan of your teeth, so you can see the plan before you commit.

How Invisalign works, step by step

  1. 1

    Consultation and digital scan

We check your teeth and gums, talk about what you'd like to change, and take a quick digital scan instead of messy impressions.

  2. 2

    See your new smile first

Your scan becomes a 3D treatment plan that shows how your teeth will move, so you know what to expect before you start.

  3. 3

    Your aligners

Your custom aligners are made from the plan. You switch to a new set on a schedule, usually every week or two.

  4. 4

    Quick check-ins

Short visits every few weeks let us make sure everything is moving the way it should.

  5. 5

    Keep your results

When treatment ends, a retainer holds your teeth in their new place, which is the key to a result that lasts.

A scan instead of goopy impressions

The office uses an iTero intraoral scanner, which builds a detailed 3D model of your teeth in a few minutes. It's more comfortable than trays of impression material, and the model is what your aligners are planned and made from.

Invisalign FAQs

Invisalign takes anywhere from a few months for simple cases to about a year or more for others. Your digital scan gives you a personal estimate before you start.

Invisalign usually doesn't hurt, though most people feel some pressure for a day or two when they switch to a new set of aligners. That pressure means the aligners are working, and it fades quickly.

No. Take your Invisalign aligners out to eat or drink anything other than water, then brush before putting them back in. That keeps both your teeth and the aligners clean.

Invisalign aligners are worn about 20 to 22 hours a day, according to Invisalign. The more consistently you wear them, the better they work.

Many adults and teens with crowded teeth, gaps or bite problems are good candidates for Invisalign. Some complex cases are better treated another way, and we'll tell you honestly at your consultation. If your teeth are straight but stained, teeth whitening may be all you need.

Yes. After Invisalign, a retainer keeps your teeth from drifting back, which is the key to a straight smile that lasts.

Yes. Invisalign works for teenagers as well as adults, usually once most adult teeth have come in. Teens wear and care for the aligners the same way, and we check progress at regular visits.

Clean Invisalign aligners by rinsing them each time you take them out and brushing them gently with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, which can warp them, and brush your teeth before putting them back in.
