Placing the implant
The implant post is placed with the area fully numbed, and sedation options are there if you're nervous.

Healing
Over the next few months, the implant fuses with your jawbone and becomes a stable foundation for your new tooth.

Your new tooth
Once it has healed, a small connector called an abutment is attached to the implant, and a custom crown shaded to match your other teeth goes on top. We show you how to care for it.
Planned in 3D before we begin
The office's 3D CT scanner shows your bone, nerves and sinuses in detail, so each implant can be planned for the right position, angle and depth. It also shows early on whether a bone graft is needed, which means fewer surprises once treatment starts.

Most healthy adults missing one or more teeth are good candidates for dental implants. You need healthy gums and enough jawbone to hold the implant. Smoking and some health conditions can slow healing, so we go over your history at your consultation.

Getting a dental implant usually hurts less than people expect, because the area is fully numbed. Some soreness for a few days afterward is normal, and sedation options are available if you're nervous.
A dental implant usually takes a few months from start to finish, because the implant needs time to fuse with your jawbone before the final crown goes on. A bone graft first adds a few more months. You'll get your own timeline at your consultation.
Not always. A bone graft is only needed for a dental implant when the jawbone has shrunk, which can happen after a tooth has been missing for a while. The 3D scan shows whether there's enough bone.
Yes. With All-on-4 and All-on-X, a few dental implants hold a full arch of fixed teeth, and you leave with temporary teeth the same day. Implants can also anchor a denture so it stops slipping. We'll explain which option suits your mouth.
